Mt. Shasta
Nestled on the edge of Mt Shasta, the second tallest volcano in the Cascade Range, the City of Mt. Shasta is one of California’s most picturesque small towns. Surrounded by the Shasta Trinity National Forest, Mt. Shasta is a haven for the outdoor enthusiast. World-class fishing, mountaineering, biking, hiking, mountain lakes, and skiing draw visitors to the area throughout the year. While enticing shops, galleries, restaurants, and small businesses enhance life in this family-friendly town. Sitting at 3600 feet, Mt Shasta receives more snow and moisture than other parts of the area due to the topography and size of the Mt. Shasta volcano at 14,165ft., but the overall weather is ideal. Typical, sunny California days with average summer temperatures in the 80s and no humidity. Rain and snowfall occur mainly in October through mid-May. Located only an hour from Redding, accessed by Interstate 5, Mt Shasta is an easy commute from most northern California cities.
